I’ve made the decision to give Summer At The Palazzo a little more time.
This wasn’t an easy decision, because I know some readers are already waiting for Georgia’s story. But after a few very demanding months behind the scenes, I realised I was pushing myself too hard to meet a deadline I had set for myself.
And sometimes, especially in midlife, we have to stop, breathe, and admit that doing something properly matters more than doing it quickly.
Georgia’s story is still coming. The heart of the book is there. The palazzo is waiting. And I’m excited to share the cover with you very soon.
Summer At The Palazzo is now planned for May 2027.

Time For Tuscany was named as a 2026 contender for the Joan Hessayon Award for New Writers, presented by the Romantic Novelists’ Association.
The award celebrates authors who have come through the RNA’s New Writers’ Scheme and gone on to publish their debut novel. Being listed among the contenders was a very special moment for Susie.
It was a proud milestone for Time For Tuscany, and a lovely moment in Susie’s writing journey.

Book Two, Summer At The Palazzo, will follow Georgia’s story.
This is the culmination of years of writing — most of it in Tuscany, some of it in Wales, all of it accompanied by the self-doubt that every writer knows.

The Joan Hessayon Award, presented by the Romantic Novelists' Association, recognises the best debut novel published in the previous year. Being a contender places Time For Tuscany among a small, distinguished group of new voices in women's fiction. For a novel that almost wasn't finished, it is something Susie still can't quite believe.
Book Two in the Echoes of the Lake series is being written now. Summer At The Palazzo follows Georgia — widowed, drifting, and about to face the one place she hasn't been able to return to. Subscribers to Susie's News will be the very first to hear any announcements.
