Susie's debut novel has been nominated for the Joan Hessayon Award, presented by the Romantic Novelists' Association to the best debut novel of the year. The ceremony takes place in London in May 2026.

This nomination is the culmination of years of writing — most of it in Tuscany, some of it in Wales, all of it accompanied by the self-doubt that every writer knows.

The Joan Hessayon Award, presented by the Romantic Novelists' Association, recognises the best debut novel published in the previous year. Being nominated places Time For Tuscany among a small, distinguished group of new voices in women's fiction. For a novel that almost wasn't finished, it is something Susie still can't quite believe.
